There is a lot more to Tijuana than pocket-friendly and quality orthopedic procedures. The land of Caesar salad (yes, the delectable salad was the creation of an Italian restaurateur who operated in Tij) has plenty of sights and experiences to offer to those seeking a vacation.

Tijuana holds the distinction of being the “most crossed-over” border town in the world.

Of course, we recommend you to ask your orthopedic surgeon if sightseeing should be a part of your itinerary or not.

Some of the must-dos of the city are:

  • Av. Revolución: Also known as “La Revo”, Av is the heart of tourism in Tijuana. Brimming with history, souvenir shops, bars and eateries, Avenida is located in the Zona Centro.
  • Bullfighting: The city has one bullfighting ring which remains open during summers. Most of the bullfights are scheduled on Sundays.
  • Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT): A major tourist attraction of Tijuana, the center features an IMAX Theater and a permanent exhibition showcasing the history of Baja California. It is only about five minutes from the San Diego border crossing area.
  • Playas de Tijuana: Home to the beaches of the border town, Playas de Tijuana offers plenty of water-sporting options such as surfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking. Plaza de Toros Monumental de Tijuana (Monumental Bullring) is located here which hosts a number of bullfighting and boxing matches, musical concerts and numerous other cultural events.
